Greece, with its picturesque seaside villages, turquoise sea and sun-drenched beaches, is a paradise for travelers seeking the perfect mix of culture, stunning natural beauty and relaxation. The Greek Islands, in particular, offer a unique charm and allure that captivate visitors from around the world and entice them to return year after year (myself included).
My love affair with Greece started in the Summer of 2021 with a visit to the islands of Paros and Mykonos just as the world was beginning to open up, and each year I’ve returned to explore more of this beautiful country. Each trip feels like the trip of a lifetime, and I just can’t seem to get over Greece. Ask me to pick my favorite island, and it would be like asking me to pick a favorite child… I love them all, and for different reasons. From the iconic whitewashed buildings of Santorini, to the renowned tavernas in Sifnos, to the vibrant nightlife of Mykonos, each island has its own distinct character and charm. As you plan your trip to the Greek Islands, half of the fun is searching for outfit inspiration and deciding what to wear. The Greek Islands are synonymous with a more neutral aesthetic and minimalist luxury, making them the perfect backdrop for chic summer outfits. Whether you’re wandering through ancient ruins, relaxing on the beach, or sipping on a spritz at a seaside taverna, your wardrobe should reflect the laid-back, effortless style of island life.

WEATHER IN THE GREEK ISLANDS
Summer in the Greek Islands is synonymous with warm weather and plenty of sunshine. The average temperature in the Summer months typically range from the mid-70s at night to mid-90s during the day (Fahrenheit), making it the perfect destination for soaking up the sun. However, the landscape of Greece seems to soak up the heat, so it’s essential to pack lightweight and breathable clothing to stay cool and comfortable in the heat.
GREECE PACKING TIPS
- Pack Light: By no means a carry-on suitcase kind of babe, however, I highly recommend trying to keep your luggage on the lighter side when traveling to Greece. It’s especially a good idea since you might be taking small planes or ferries to get between islands. Trust me, you’ll thank me later when you’re not having to lug three large suitcases up a steep ramp and find a place for them aboard a crowded Greece Ferry in 90-degree heat. Luckily, bikinis and coverups don’t take up much room, do they?
- Use Packing Cubes: Organize your luggage with packing cubes to maximize space and keep your belongings organized so you can easily find things. This helps so much when you’re hopping between islands and having to unpack and repack a few times. I’ve included my favorites below.
- Plan Your Outfits: Keep your packing list short by focusing on versatile pieces that you can wear more than once. Take photos of your outfits on your phone before you pack, so you know exactly what you have and can easily throw on a look.
- Keep Your Valuable in Your Carry On: I never risk packing any of my nice jewelry or handbags in my checked luggage in case it gets lost or stolen. I also travel with a mini portable safe for valuables in case my accommodations don’t have one.
- Air Tags, Air Tags, AIR TAGS: I never travel without putting an air tag in every single piece of luggage, and you shouldn’t either. It makes tracking down lost luggage so much easier and gives you peace of mind.

What to Pack for Your Greece Vacation
- Lightweight, Breathable Clothing: Think breezy linen pants, denim shorts, mini skirt, cute top, linen shirt, crop tops, simple dresses and cover-ups in light and neutral color. Darker colors during the day will attract the heat.
- Maxi Dresses: My go-to uniform for the Greek Islands. Maxi dresses are effortlessly chic and can easily be worn day or night, dressed up or down for any occasion.
- Swimsuits: I like to pack multiple swimsuit options, to give them time to dry in between wears. Think cute Bikinis for lounging on the beach, and perhaps some sturdier options for activities like kite surfing and cliff jumping.
- Comfortable Walking Shoes: Comfortable yet stylish sandals are a must-have for exploring the cobblestone streets and flip flops are a necessity for the sandy beaches of the Greek Islands. I also recommend packing some comfortable pair of sneakers that you don’t mind getting a little dusty, for any exploring. You can leave the high heels at home, unless you know you’re going to be traveling to and from dinner strictly by taxi.
- Sun Hat and Sunglasses: Believe me when I say the sun is strong in Greece! There is a reason why all the buildings are painted white, after all… A wide-brimmed sun hat or chic pair of sunglasses not only adds a touch of glamour to your outfit but also provides much-needed sun protection.
- Light Jacket: When the sun goes down, it does tend to get a bit cooler in the evenings. I recommend packing a light sweater or jacket to throw on.
- Athleisure: If you’re planning on doing anything active like an early morning hike or ATV ride, I recommend bringing a cute workout set or two.
- Cozy Plane Outfit: Plane rides tend to be freezing, especially on a long flight, so be sure to wear something warm that you can easily throw in your bag upon arrival.
- Beach Bags: I recommend bringing a chic Beach bag that can easily fold up and takes up less room in your suitcase. Trust me, you don’t want to ruin your cute straw tote trying to use it as your carry-on bag on the plane.
- Lightweight quick dry towel that you can easily throw in your beach bag and won’t take up a lot of space.
- Swimsuit Bag for your wet bikinis so you don’t have to wear them all day long if you’re out and about.
- Waterproof Bag to keep essentials like your cell phone and cameras dry and sand free if you’re out on a boat trip or at the beach.
- Electrical Converter: I highly recommend getting an International electrical travel converter that can be used to plug in electronics anywhere in the world. up a steep ramp
- Laundry Bag: This is a personal preference, but I always like to bring a laundry bag with me for dirty clothes, to keep them separate from my clean on

Channel your inner Grecian goddess with flowing maxi dresses that epitomize island chic. Opt for styles that feature draped silhouettes and soft fabrics, to capture the essence of ethereal beauty. Choose dresses in natural shades to complement the sun-kissed backdrop of the Greek Islands. Pair your maxi dress with raffia bag for daytime and a dressy pair of sandals for night. It’s one of my favorite outfits to wear in Greece.
Add a pop of color to your Greece outfits with a bright dress or skirt in eye-catching shades of blue, turquoise, or coral, reflecting the colors of the sun setting and blue waters of the Aegean Sea. (Blue is a must when planning Santorini outfits IMO). Pair these colorful pieces with neutral basics to create a balanced and stylish ensemble that captures the essence of summer in Greece.
